Local arty crafty events and people

First Fridays are a nice local east bay thing to do. It started out as the First Friday Art Murmur – list of galleries you could walk or bike that were all open for the evening.

Lately it expanded to include the Oakland Museum, which i now have a membership to, where they have a craft sale area, movies, yoga class, band and other activities including the museum being open late. Vim and Jack and I made it this last First Friday and it was very enjoyable. The Oakland Museum hates people in wheelchairs or with strollers tho, be warned, the place is all steps and ramps are few and far between.

This First Friday was the Feria Urbana, so there were lots of yummy crafters and artists.

I bought a ring from the lovely woman from  twelve designs and ran into the woman who does Made with Molecules jewelry. She also makes super cute little onsies, one with oxytocin on the front. ha!

All this walking around was done with a VERY disapproving baby in a stroller. He spent the entire evening with his bottom lip precariously pushed forward. Sorry for all those links, but you know, all those local people doing great arts and crafts deserve recognition!
