Sewing on a fluffy cloud

As I type this Vim is sitting next to me sewing a baby ‘wife beater’ undershirt for Jack. I’m all having a fit because I don’t want to use the term ‘wife beater’. I mean wtf? But what can I say? muscle shirt is not th same thing. sleeveless white ribbed under shirt? UGH!

Anyway. It comes prestained as it is one of Vim’s old ratty ones. HIlarious! Vim is super cute when he sews.

Already i have completed a bunch of basic mending tasks that have been sitting around in my sewing room waiting for me. Some for actual YEARS have been waiting to completed. Also many of the decorative stitches have been tested and gloated over.

I swear.. sewing with this thing is sweet. Right now I have it on the kitchen table because the sewing room is in CHAOS as i rearrange and organize. I didn’t want that thing to happen where I put off projects because my room isn’t clean. So for now it’s on the kitchen table.

What shall my next project be!!! I’m thinking I will whip out a bunch of baby blankets and then sew myself a dress.

Uncanny! I was just having a long ridiculous conversation about this very topic! But we mostly centered on it being a “tank top” and why it was called that. I still have not tried to look it up. Is it somehow because people wore them inside military tanks because it was really sweaty in there? “Men’s undershirt, sleeveless, ribbed”. (Ugh). And I believe when I buy them in Target in the boys’ department they are called A-line shirts or A-something shirts, which seems odd considering that ther are also A-line skirts and dresses that are a completely different thing. I have forgotten the other ridiculous yet plausible conjectures about why it is a “tank” top.

The real name of those shirts is an “A” shirt.. (or athletic shirt). I only know because I wear them allz the time!

    Photo is so cute!!
