Shoes, shoes and more shoes
While destroying my closet I took some shoe pictures. Possibly, I should have attempted to make the shoes look better, or dusted them off or something.
There are a wide range of shoes pictured here from over a span of at least 15 years.
On the top row, second from the left we have a pair of “going out” shoes from about 1995. Once after a rousing night at the Kilowatt on 16th and Valencia I fell over and twisted my ankle and was laid up for 2 weeks. On the third row, second from the left we have a pair of delicious platforms in red, green and yellow. I wore these everyday for a year in about 1997. They looked great with mini skirts but they are HEAVY! So heavy! They are soled in lead.
I’ve gotten a bit girlier in recent years as evidenced by the silver Frye mary janes and the mustard yellow and cream Jeffery Campbell heels. I LOVE both of these AND I bought these just after I realized that a 6.5 size were actually better for me than a 7 when it comes to heels.
The pair of white boots with black laces are Miz Mooz. I’m not sure why I got white in this shoe… I wish I had gotten the brown instead. However, in the spirit of DIY I have purchased shoe dye stripper and some different colors of leather dye. So, I could dye them blue or red or I could mix them and make purple! What do you think I should do?
And of course we have the standard Fluevog heels (fourth row, second from right) and boots (bottom right). The dark red heels are always a win win for me. They are comfy and sexy and stylish. The boots, now, I LOVE these boots so much! A round toed cowboy boot is sheer genius. I have freakishly large calves so when I bought these I had the Fluevog store strtch out the top part. Even with that, right now, they don’t fit.
These are not all my shoes, obviously. I have a flickr set with all my Black Boots . Agirl can never have too many pairs of black boots.
What are your favorite shoes?! And why!

Man with those white boots I would do a swirly sort of thing. I picture it coming out like marbled endpapers in a book, with blue and purple and black on the white. I don’t know if shoe dye would float on top of water, though, for the marble-ing effect. Maybe something thicker like oil or vaseline. Shoe dye, on vaseline substrate on a piece of like, uhhh thick canvas or fabric on top of tinfoil, swirled with a comb to make the pattern, then lay it on the boot. CRAFTY!

Oh can i just say I am loving your shoes. Pretty much all of them , but the fourth row, second from left would have to my top pick, but it’s a pretty tight field. I think we actually owned a pair of those multicolour platforms 3rd row second from left- we got them in a second hand shop in Hobart Tasmania in the early 90′s and my friend wore them out dancing every weekend
I have trouble with shoes. I’m pretty much the biggest size they carry without getting into tranny shoes. Like a European 42 (I’m never sure how US shoe sizes match up with ours). And I have dodgy feet- flat and wide with plantar fasciitis, ankles screwed up from too much running when I was a young tacker, but the shoes I love so much right now are these http://www.wittner.com.au/shop/shop.aspx?catid=112
even if they are a bit tight, and I can’t wear them when I have to look after P (I can’t run in them).
I also have freakishly large calves. I had to get my ski boots hand made (and yes, f**ing expensive. And now they don’t fit me. Freaking pregnancy ruined my already freaky feet).
Would you consider polka dots on the boots? Or maybe woodgrain.

btw the http://www.wittner.com.au/shop/shop.aspx?catid=112 specific shoe, is, strangely enough, the ‘jen’. It was fate.

oh fuckit. They’re the second pair on the scrolly thing. Brogues with a heel in black.
