beaty beat beaty beat clap clap!

DEAR MOTHER OF GOD! Repetitive 2 year old games are killing me. Also, having to read the same book 5 times in a row, especially if it is a boring one like “machines at work”.

princess mouse

How many times can I have princess mouse hide under the blanket? How many times can princess mouse push the toy car around? GAH! Although I’m complaining about it I like that he is playing this sort of game and that I can introduce more complex story lines involving things like how the toy feels, what it’s intentions are and I especially like to make the toy pretend to do something because it just is funny and it seems like a fairly complex thing for a baby to think about. For instance, his polar bear likes to pretend to be a train.

I’ve bought a couple of stuffed animals at IKEA and was worried at the time that they would be crappy and cheap. But they’ve turned out to be all his favorite stuffies! He has his polar bear (whose name is POP), princess mouse and kitty.

Is it wrong to make a kid think he has a tail? I always wished I had a tail. In the bath last night I think Jack was asking me if his penis was his tail… I still wish we could have tails if we want them. I can’t wait for burning man this year as I will wear a tail the entire time thusly reliving my 3rd grade year of elementary school.

My hair is pink now!

Repetitive games…arghhhhh. I’ve had to be mean mommy on occasion and say no I’m done. One can lose one’s mind! I find Ansel usually burns out by six times if I can last that long.

Your subject line is Yo Gabba Gabba right?!?! I wonder when I will learn that when I do some silly thing, usually that involves me having to catch my breath afterwards, that the almost 2 year old will undoubtedly say AGAIN AGAIN?

And in reference to your post about Trichotillomania (which I know is old but it shows at the bottom of the post)…I have known people that had it over the years to differing degrees and I think a doctor would say hey, as long as it isn’t stopping you from leaving the house, or making you unable to function, then wtf. Just sayin.

  3. Love the pink hair. As for the repetitive, I can’t even imagine how much I would loathe this. It already tries my patience to have to repeat myself once to my students!

I don’t think I ever minded how many times I repeated something. I get a kick out of seeing how happy the baby is and also how long his attention span is and how he is processing it all! It is so intense for the child and so comforting some how. Wait til you have to play Candyland a million times and sneak cheat to lose!!! Besides, Princess Mouse doesn’t care how many times she does something, heh.
