This time around and revised strategies

I’ve actually been doing a fair amount of crafting but somehow have not posted about any of it! I don’t know why!

Right now I am getting ready for the May 30th and May 31st Maker Faire Bazaar Bizarre down in San Mateo. Take a look at the Bazaar Bizarre vendor gallery to see all the other cool vendors that will be there.

So I am sewing lots of spats, well, I am trying to anyway. I’m having trouble because my whole original strategy of working while Mr. Pants is napping just isn’t working. I’m afraid to go into the craft room while he is napping because it almost always wakes him up.

So I revised my strategy to be that while he was napping I would cut all the fabric in my bedroom and do the sewing at night when Vim comes home and after Mr. Pants goes to sleep. He sleeps pretty well at night and the sewing machine doesn’t seem to bother him as much. This hasn’t been working for me either because somehow I never dash off to the craft room right when Vim gets home, or he gets home late and plus 3 days a week he doesn’t get home til well after baby has gone to bed anyway and then by 8:00 I am ass tired and want some kind of passive entertainment.

SO. Revision #3.
the sewing machine is going to have to come downstairs and live on the kitchen table again for a while. It wont be so bad. I will add a few leaves to the table and it will be a bit crowded.

I’m making some taller more fitted spats this time around. Red ones with blue lining, red with black lining, white with black lining and racing stripes, black eyelet lace ones with and with out lining and a bunch made out of old tweedy pants that are pretty cute and some more men’s including some traditional white ones that I think are very natty.

Lest you think I have been napping… I’ve not been napping, okay, except for 15 minutes today…...
