A bathing dress (my old one, tho cute, is getting too stretched out), the totally kick ass Enzo Angiolini men’s dress shoes in exactly my size (and super comfortable! and natty!), and a pretty good black velvet smoking jacket.

Vim and I spent some time looking at houses for sale in the area this weekend. We drove by a bunch and went to a couple of open houses.
There were a couple of good ones, good for different reasons.

One is gorgeous and perfect, walking distance to cute neighborhood main street, big(ish), craftsman style, big backyard, but driveway too small for an actual car and no garage. That last might be the sticking point that makes us not offer for it. But it’s SO GOOD in every other way!!!

How do we know which points to cave on? Street parking for the next 20 years sounds sort of dismal but but but…

The other one we liked was kind of a shithole… it would need major interior work. But it was a mock Eichler and the inside layout was totally fun with secret hiding places and it had a pretty view of the bay. This one is def. out but I still am enjoying thinking about it.

In general I am finding house hunting to be extremely heart wrenching. I have to imagine my whole life and Vim’s and Mr. Pants and any other mystery kids that might come along in the house for years an years. Then you have to mentally place all your furniture and wonder about schools, and neighbors and disclosure agreements and mortgages.

Anyone have any house hunting tips for me?

I made that cake plate today

In other news Mr. Pants turned two and ate many cupcakes. I made this cute cake plate yesterday. It consists of a plate I got at Anthropolgie for 3.99 and a candle holder from goodwill that was .99 and some super glue. Actually vim super glued it.. but only because he did it all of a sudden quick when I walked away for one second. We put a cupcake frosted like a cake on there and cut Mr. Pants teeny pieces.
