Kale chips not as orgasmic as I was led to believe.

I just made some kale chips with some slightly wilted kale from my fridge. It was okay. I washed it, dried it, cut out the spine, tossed in olive oil and apple cider vinegar, spread on pan and sprinkled with sesame seeds and baked at 350 for a while. I may have over baked. then I sprinkled with salt.

I mean, it was pretty good especially after I started putting the chips on my crackers with cream cheese. But it wasn’t as orgasm inducing as all the food bloggers would like you to believe. It was kind of pleasing to take a floppy lettuce-y green and crisp it up.

Kale is supposed to be madly nutritious and low in calories so health food nuts and dieters are all over this shit. i thought, I wonder how much baking the kale reduces it’s nutritional value? Which lead me via google to this article that I thought was hilarious:
Does cooking render minerals “inorganic” or less assimilable??
ahahahaa. In the middle of the article the author loses her cool and is like these people are DUMB! Well not in so many words. But I could tell she was thinking it.

  1. We just tried kale chips this week. They were very good BUT I think it was because brushed them with butter before baking (we can’t use any oils because of the little guy’s food allergies).

  2. that article is hilarious! As she gets more and more worked up she puts in more and more quotation marks so that whenever she says “fact” and “expert” and “proof” you can practically see her nostrils flare with disdain.
