Maker Faire! Over again!

I always forget how LONG the days at Maker Faire seem when you are a vendor. VERY LONG. Ones eyes and nose start to hurt for some reason.

Despite the long days I enjoyed Maker Faire again this year. Sunday morning I felt so sick I thought would die. A bit of food and a 45 minute nap in my car before the day started helped quite a bit as did getting to run around the fair looking at things.

My Etsy shop is empty of spats for now but I am available for custom orders, please contact me through Etsy.

Maker Faire: World Famous DIY Art, Craft and Tech Festival Now Accepting Craft Vendor Applications to Bazaar Bizarre!

Applications Due on March 16th for Bazaar Bizarre Maker Faire

This is a two-day event being held on May 22nd and 23rd, 2010
Saturday 10am – 8pm and Sunday 10am – 6pm. (Not Memorial Day Weekend)

This Bazaar Bizarre event is happening as part of Make and Craftzine’s San Mateo Maker Faire 2010. The entire event takes place at the San Mateo Fairgrounds. Last year’s Maker Faire drew over 75,000 attendees. Please see http://makerfaire.com/ for more program information. The Bazaar Bizarre is held indoors. More details about the event will be available to you if you are accepted as a vendor.

Bazaar Bizarre supports artists and craftspeople that appeal to the aesthetic of the “indie art and craft scene” and have innovative approaches to traditional craft forms. There is a $10 application fee to apply. Full Vendor Fees collected AFTER Acceptance.

Getting Excited About Maker Faire and Bazaar Bizarre!!

Okay! I am officially VERY EXCITED. Also, VERY NOT PREPARED. You like how I did not prepared in all caps and bold? I’m trying to emphasize. Do you get it?

The universe is laughing up it’s sleeve at me. Some time last week I was on the phone with a friend telling her all about my new improved shit togetherness. “Yeah,” I said, “This time around I have my shit together I started gathering it WEEKS ago.” *pats self on back*

FF to today. In getting some of my shit together I neglected other parts of getting ready to the point of head in sand, didn’t even read emails etc.

I’m not stressed though… It will all work out and plus I am very excited! Although I did lose my shit this morning when the baby sitter did not show up and so I missed my hair appointment and it totally fucked all my other plans for the day. I survived. It was very hard to mentally shift gears but I managed it and I swallowed my disappointment like a grown up curled up on the couch in tears.

Look, I got new business cards!

I changed my blog template to match!

Also, the skirt I am making is SO CUTE! I will post photos tomorrow and I’m working on my skirt tutorial as well. Maybe it will be done tomorrow too.

You Bazaar @ SF County Fair building in GG Park! Nov 2nd!

Hiya Folks,

You Bazaar is just around the corner! Next weekend, November 2nd at the San Francisco County Fair Building (Hall of Flowers in Golden Gate Park) local crafters, toy and plush designers and other indie artists will be showcasing and selling their work. Oh, and there will also be some craft workshops at You Bazaar! They all look really good! I’m looking forward to checking out the fortune cookie one since I am secretly obsessed by plush food.

FREE ADMISSION

You Bazaar! will be on November 2nd 2008 from 10am to 5pm at the San Francisco County Fair Building in Golden Gate Park. You Bazaar! will feature 30 select craft vendors selling quality handmade wares and a series of rotating workshops throughout the day with some of your favorite plush designers. While we would like to use this event to promote plush art we welcome all crafters to apply for a vendor space. This will be a fun family friendly event to kick off the Plush You SF Show, opening Friday, November 7th 2008 and excite customers for the holiday shopping extravaganza Bazaar Bizarre San Francisco on Sunday, November 30th 2008
